GIA - Gemological Institue of America
Established in 1931, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), a non-profit institute, is the world’s foremost authority on diamonds, colored stones, and pearls. The GIA exists to protect all purchasers of gemstones, by providing the education,laboratory services, research, and instruments needed to accurately and objectively determine gemstone quality. This institute is the place to turn to for unbiased analysis of gemstone quality. The are the world’s most respected gemological laboratory, entrusted with grading and identifying more gems than any other lab including the Hope, the Taylor-Burton, the De Beers Millennium Star, and the Incomparable. Located in major gem and jewelry centers around the world, GIA laboratories are staffed by expert diamond graders and gemologists, whose work sets the standard for grading practices worldwide. There mission is to ensure the public trust in gems and jewelry by upholding the highest standards of integrity, academics, science, and professionalism through education, research, laboratory services, and instrument development. The GIA attained its leadership role through decades of integrity and ingenuity, and everything they do is still driven by this mission. The GIA is the global leader in gemological research, and its findings serve to protect the consumer.

Jewelers of America is the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry retail marketplace. Our primary purpose is to promote consumer confidence in the jewelry industry. Since 1906, we have been advancing the fine jewelry industry through advocacy in public, government and industry affairs; and have been the leader in the development of high ethical, social and environmental standards among the retail jewelry trade.

Founded in 1950 by Murray Kagan, Cordova is a multi-generational family owned and operated jewelry manufacturer, specializing in fashion and bridal design.
Dedicated to outstanding quality and exceptional service, Bob Kagan, the second generation, has been managing the company since he became its President and Chief Executive Officer in 1965.
Bob's wife, Arlene, joined the firm in 1985 and became its Executive Vice President.
Ron Rosen, their nephew and the founder's grandson, graduated from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design in 1992, and with the encouragement of Arlene and Bob, he started Rosen Block Design in 1993.
In 2008, the two firms were merged and Ron became Cordova's President and Creative Director.
